What is clickbank and how can I make money from it?
What is clickbank and how can I make money from it?
Clickbank is a bascially a company where people can list their products that affiliates can sell for them.
So say I was selling an ebook entitled "Get the NO1 Rank of Google" but I didnt want to do all the hard work of selling it myself. I would sign up at clickbank and allow their affiliate to sell it for me.
Now would would an affiliate or you want to sell it for me? Well its a great ebook (remember its only an example not a real ebook!) and if you sell it for me I will give you a 75% commission.
So you get to sell a great ebook and keep 75% of the sale price.
But how do you sell my ebook for me?
You get everything you need, you dont even a sales page for the ebook, you dont need to provide a download link for the ebook, all you have to do is promote your affiliate link.
When people click on your affiliate link, they get taken to the product sales pages, they buy from that page and clickbank directs them to the download page. You get 75% commission from the sale and all you did was promote a simple little link.
So can you see how simple it is to make money even when you dont have a product? Thats why so many people promote clickbank affiliate links, in fact some people have even created whole websites just with clickbank products on them, they do nothing except direct people to their website then collect all the commisions when they sell.
So how do you register at Clickbank simple:
To register as an affiliate ( sell other peoples products)
Sign up to sell other peoples products
To register as a publisher (and get other people to sell your product)
Sign up to get people to sell your product
Ok so now back to how you can make money as an affiliate selling other peoples products.
When you sign up as an affiliate you will choose clickbank nickname so lets say for example we use JohnnyB.
You go back to clickbank and choose marketplace, you will see this option at the top right hand side of the homepage beside my account.
Now you will be presented with various options which Im not going to go into great detail about, the main part that concerns you is the "Search the clickbank market place".
You will see an empty search box beside "keywords" this is where you will put the main word for the item you wish to be an affiliate for.
So say JohnnyB wants to promote golfing related products.
He types in Golf and hits go.
So he will now have a list of all the products on Clickbank that he can be an affiliate for.
Under each product their is two choices:
View Pitch Page
and
Create Hoplink
View Pitch Page will show him the page that people will be redirected to when they use his affiliate link. Always click this and take a look at the product sales page, just to see exactly what you are selling.
Creat Hoplink will pop up a box, it will have Clickbank Nickname and Tracking Id. Now Im not going into tracking id, but basically if you want to track your ads you would use this.
For now all you would do is enter your clickbank nickname in the empty box and click submit.
Now you will have another box pop up with your affiliate link.
http://JohnnyBsally69.shopuyd.hop.clickbank.net for example.
But obviousy it will have your clickbank nickname instead of our imaginary boy JohnnyB.
Try out your link and see what happens, it simply takes you to the sales page for that product, and when someone buys using your link, you get the commission.
I might also add that when you are browsing your search results you will see many percentages displayed below each product, the main one that interests you is the first one:
$/sale: $xx.xx this is the amount you will receive as commission when you sell the product.
The figure after that one is the actual percentage of commission is 75% of product price.
So now you know how to go to clickbank, get your affiliate links for lots of products and sell sell sell.
But once you have your affiliate link what do you do?
Well you can use these links in ebooks that you have written, if you write an ebook about weightloss, search clickbank for weightloss, get lots of affiliate links, and put them at the end of your ebook under a page you call resources.
You can use your clickbank affiliate link as your signature in forums.
You can use it in emails you send.
Or you could be clever and set up a whole website just containing your clickbank affiliate links.
Now most ordinary everyday people dont know what a clickbank affiliate link is let alone looks like so they will just click it.
But online marketers, ebook resellers, etc etc do know that its your affiliate link, and quite frankly, they dont want you to get commission from them, so they will just amend your link and add their own nickname or they will go to clickbank and buy the product direct.
So you need to cloak your affiliate links.
Cloak simply means hide the link, so that people dont know where is going to and cant cheat.

Whats the best auction to use selling on eBay
What type of listing is best for selling on eBay
Here is a quick guide to the different types of listings you may use to sell your items on eBay.
Auction
Buy it Now
Auction with Buy it Now
Reserved Price
Best offer
Shop store item
Auction
When you list an item for sale on eBay using the auction format, you are basically selling off your item to the highest bidder. Imagine you are at Auctioneers, the Auctioneer will continue accepting bids from people until one of two things, only one bidder is left and they will win the auction, or if time runs out. This doesn’t usually happen at a normal auction but time runs out on an eBay Auction. Buyers will bid on your item for sale, and when the auction listing ends, the ebay bidder with the highest bid amount wins your item. If you have a popular item for sale, and you have 3 or 4 bidders you can reach very high amounts as buyers don’t want to lose to another buyer, which pushes the price up and your profit up to. If you list as an online auction your item will receive full exposure on eBay search results.
Buy it now
If you list your item for sale on eBay using a Buy it Now or BIN, then you specify the amount you want to sell your item for, say 99p, a buyer comes along, likes your item, does a buy it now and your item is sold. You set the buy it now price for anything you want, but remember setting it too high will end up with your item not selling and you having to re-list later for a lower price. Selling using a buy it now format gets full exposure on eBay search results.
Auction with Buy it Now
This has to be my favourite way of listing an item, for two reasons, I will explain my reasons after the explanation of Auction with a Buy it now option. When you list an eBay item for sale you can combine auction and buy it now, which means you list your item as an auction but it can also be bought instantly. So you can list your item with an auction starting price of 1p and have the option of a buy it now for £9.99. Buyers can then bid, and wait to see if they win they item, or they can buy it now and not miss out on your item.
Ok now back to the two reasons I love ABIN (Auction Buy It Now) first reason is that when people search on items on eBay, they sort the items by price, usually lowest first, because everyone wants something cheap, that’s why they are on eBay after all, so your item will show up in the low price sorted search, lots of exposure.
Second reason, buyers don’t like to wait, if they want an item they want it NOW so they BUY IT NOW, ebayers are fed up of being pipped at the post, you know when a bid goes in at the dying seconds of an auction and beats their bid. So my experience is that people just BIN rather than wait the 7 or 10 days for the auction to end. Auction with buy it now also gets full exposure on eBay search result returns.
Reserved Price
When you sell an item on eBay you can out a reserved price on it. This means that unless your item receives a bid of a certain amount it won’t sell. You set the reserved price, it’s the lowest price that you are willing to sell your item for, so if you are selling a mobile phone on eBay, and you don’t want it to sell for any less than £200, you set the reserved price at £200, bidding will start on your item, but until a bid of £200 is received the auction will state that “the reserved price has not been met”.
If your auction had received a bid of £150, even though that bidder is the winner, they don’t win your item because the reserve price was not met. If the item received a bid of £200 then that person would win the item.
If your item received lots of bid, above £200 say the highest bid was £245, then you still get the £245. Your reserved price is the lowest limit your item will sell but does not limit your auction to that amount.
Listing with an auction with a reserved price will get maximum exposure on ebay search returns.
Best Offer option
The best offer option allows possible ebay buyers to suggest an offer to you for you’re for sale item. You list your item for sale, say £2.99, along comes a buyer and thinks yeah I want that item but I’m not willing to pay £2.99, I only want to pay £1.99, they can send you an offer through the eBay system and offer you the £1.99 for your item. You then have the choice of accepting their offer, and the item will be sold for that amount, or you can reject the offer, and the item will continue running in the auction for sale.
A buyer can only submit one offer to you. When selling your item and offering a best offer option, try and list it a little bit higher, so you will receive good offers on your item.
Shop Store Item
When you sell an item on eBay if you have an eBay shop or store you can list your items in there for longer and lower prices. So you can list your item for 30 days for much less eBay fees. Now this may sound great but there is a twist. EBay changed the rules, and now shop store items are only returned in eBay search results when there are few items similar to what you are selling.
So say I had an ebook, popular one, like eBay Powerseller Challenge, there is thousands of this particular ebook on ebay, so my shop store listing would not show up in the search results. If however I was selling an ebook that not many other sellers were selling, like Catch a Cheating Spouse, then my listing would be shown in the eBay search results.
So to re-cap if you item is very popular, it won’t show up in search results, if it’s rare and original it will. Remember to try and always have a unique title, dont use the same titles everyone else does or your shop item will get lost under all the others.
Don’t let this put you off listing in your shop or store because it can heavily reduce your ebay listing fees. Just use other auctions to divert people to your shop store items.
Always make sure you add a part in all your listings saying why not visit my shop for more great items.
EBay are always changing their auction formats, listing lengths, item exposures etc etc, so make sure you check what the current practices are rather than taking the information in this post as the law.

10 things to know before you write your own ebook
10 things you must know before you start to write your own ebook
What will be the contents of your ebook?
You must know the subject of what your ebook will be about. Its better to write your own ebook about a subject you know a lot about, if you try to write an ebook with very little knowledge of the subject its bound to relfect in the content. Make sure you know everything there is to know about the subject in your ebook, the internet has a wealth of information on all subjects so surf the net and read and read AND read until you are happy that you know your subject inside and out.
Why are you writing the ebook?
What is the purpose of you writing the ebook, is it to sell thousands of copies and make lots of money, or is the ebook going to be a way to drive traffic to your website and make sales from there, or are you producing the ebook to receive sign ups or subscribers? Make sure you know exactly what you want to gain from writing your ebook and make sure your focus entirely on this when writing your own ebook. If you try to achieve too many things from one ebook, you will most likely achieve nothing. If need be, write a separate ebook on the same subject for each particular need that you have, ie. an ebook for directing traffic, getting sign ups, selling.
What will be the title of your ebook?
Do you have a title in mind for your ebook? If so, ignore it and write down as many different titles that you can think of, then look at each of them and see which one stands out the most, its always good to have a call to action in your ebook title, ie. Stop Divorce Now, Dumped Get Over it, use words like Discover, Secrets, Stop, Free, Amazing, Imagine, How to, Finally, Quick, Easy etc etc. A snappy attention grabbing headline is a very important part of your ebook.
Will your ebook include graphics?
Will the ebook you write have graphics? If so, what ones?If you are wrting a how to guide will you put in screenshots, if its an ebook about cooking will you have images of the recipes? Often when writing an ebook lots and lots of information can be boring, why not break it up with a few choice images. Will your ebook have an ecover, highly recommend to make it more professional a picture says a thousand words, get a well designed professional ecover design and enhance the overall image of your ebook contents.
What rights will you offer with your ebook?
The are many categories of rights included with ebooks here are a few:
Resell or Resale Rights
Master Resell or Resale Rights
Private Label Rights
Unrestricted Private Label Rights
Giveaway Rights
No Rights
Resell or Resale rights means that the person selling the ebook can resell it, but the resell rights do no pass onto the buyer, which means they cannot resell the ebook themselves. The ebook you have written is not allowed to be copied or changed in anyway and must be sold as it was written.
Master Resell Rights means that the person selling the ebook is also allowed to sell on the resell rights, so the buyer can then also resell the ebook you have written. Again the ebook must not be copied or changed in anyway and must be sold exactly the way it was written.
Private Label Rights means that you give away the source or text of your ebook, then someone can brand the ebook themselves and claim authorship, ie. the buyer becomes the author. They can brand the contents any way they want, change the contents but they cannot sell the private label source document rights to anyone else, they can only sell the ebook branded by them.
Unrestricted Private Label Rights means the same as the above except the person can also sell the source code or text of your ebook ie. they can sell the private label rights to your ebook.
Giveaway Rights basically means that the ebook must be given away, it must not be sold in anyway, it can only be given away free of charge.
No Rights means that the ebook you have written is copyright to you and only you are allowed to sell it.
Dont quote me on the above its just my interpretation of the rights issues, always consult the person you purchase any ebook from, or check the ebook contents for a reseller license.
If allow your ebook to be resold you will then get the "viral marketing effect" which means the more times your ebook gets sold, remember your website or affiliate link is already included in the book which cannot be amended, then the more people will see your link and most likely visit or sign up.
You can get the viral effect with giveaway rights, but unless you ebook is of an outstanding quality many people wont give it away as there is nothing in it for them, perhaps allowing them to brand a copy of the giveaway righs ebook is a much better idea.
How much are you going to charge for your ebook
(Obviously this does not apply to a free or giveaway ebook)
Dont price your ebook too low, why? because it is basically saying the contents of this ebook are only worth that amout of money. You have worked hard to prodcue this ebook masterpiece dont underprice it. Study other ebooks in the same market, see what they are selling for, buy them and see if they have better than content than yours, if so, change yours, get more content, make it better. If similar ebooks have lesser content and you feel your ebook is of much better quality then increase the price of your ebook to more than theirs. If you have several mailings lists, offer then the ebook at diferent prices, see what sells, ask for feedback on the ebook and find out if they felt they got value for their money and adjust your price accordingly.
What format will your ebook be available in
The main two formats are ebook compilers (usually exe format) and adobe pdf format.
Many ebook buyers are wary of spyware/viruses etc etc so are less likely to buy an exe or executionable ebook, it can also cause problems for people who own mac pcs and cannot access files of these types. Most pcs come with a free copy of adobe pdf reader, or can download a free copy from www.adobe.com so this is this type of format I tend to use now.
You can simply type your ebook up in a word processing application, then convert it to pdf.
Converting you ebook into pdf format is actually very simple and i recommend this free program
http://www.pdf995.com its free to use, converts you document in literally minutes (the free version has a few ads but they are hardly noticeable) and you can also copy protect your pdf document so no one can copy it.
What links will be included in your ebook
When you are writing your ebook you should almost always include a link back to your website, this is not just for the viral effect or getting traffic, but if someone reads your ebook and enjoys the content they will want to visit your website for more information on this subject, so let them know where to find it.
You can also included affiliate urls if you like, but make sure they are relevant, for example if someone buys your ebook about say, cats, they dont want the ebook filled will affiliate links for mobile phones. Search for good affiliate links here www.clickbank.com its free to sign up and there are 1000s of affiliate products that you can promote.
Promoting Your Newly written ebook
There are lots of ways to promote your ebook, you can give away free copies to owner of ebooks websites like me, I happily give away resell rights ebooks that are donated to my hungry list of resellers.
You could set up a great sales page and use the url as your signature when posting in relevant forums.
You could use the first chapter as an article and submit it to article directors and link to the sales page, so when people like the article they visit the sales page and buy your ebook.
You could sign up to www.clickbank.com and add your ebook there, then people will get a commision, youe decide what percentage, for selling the ebook for you.
You could leak a chapter of the ebook for free but put a link in it for people who wish to buy the entire ebook.
You could submit a press realease about your ebook, there are a million and one ways to promote the sale of your ebook and I obviously cant go into all them here!
What will be included with your ebook download
Are you going to include a copy of the sales page and a thankyou page?
Will you include the graphics ie the ebook ecover?
Will you include a reseller license?
Will you be including any bonus ebooks?
etc etc etc
If you use the above 10 rules, you should have the basis for writing a good ebook, and having all the relevant information required, ofcourse these are just the basics, but the more your write ebooks the better you will get.
