12 ways to ensure repeat traffic to your website

12 ways to get repeat traffic to your website

1. Remember to try and update your website pages as frequently as you can. Websites without updating content can easily be dropped by online search engines. Its an idea to a dated counter so that the webpage will display the date of when your website was last updated with fresh new information.

2. Make it simple and easy for customers to sign up or opt in to your newsletters. Offer a free product if they sign up, or give them a discount to any future promises, but make it enticing enough for them to want to sign up.

3. Make sure you have traffic building links on your main webpage, such as "Add to your favourites" or "Make this site you homepage". A quick search on any of the main search engines and you will find lots of free scripts that you can use for the above purpose.

4. If you are seeking affiliates give them an incentive for becoming one of your partners, such as a link to your sight, or a free ad for one their products in your newsletter or ezine. Perhaps even offer them a discount of all products on your website. Be careful not to advertise anything that is in direct competition with your own products.

5. Make it easy for visitors to recommend your website to other people who may be interested in its contents. A simple script will allow you to add a link so that they can enter their friend's email and an email will automatically be sent, with your own inserted message, with a click of a button.

6. Make sure are your website pages are consistent and people know they are on your website, no ones wants to click on an item and then suddenly think they have been taken to another site altogether. Have your website logo clearly displayed at all times, in fact, try to use the same header at the top of every page of your website. Make your memorable, use your logo and keywords to their full effect. Ensure that your website will be remember in case the customer wants to visit again but has not add your website to their favourites.

7. Create separate pages for "contact us" "help" "delivery" etc etc this will show that run a professional service and that you can be contacted easily if need be. This will ensure your customer will trust you and ultimately order a product from you.

8. Create a Frequently Asked Questions Page which will answer the most questions you get asked, each time you are asked a question by a customer make sure you add it to the FAQ page. Then without even having to contact you the customer will be able to see most answers to their questions immediately.

9. Once a customer has gave you their email address never send them unwanted emails, if possible ask them when they sign up if they would like to receive your newsletters. Use a double opt in when possible, which means after they initially submit their email, they have to click another link to officially sign up. Dont ever sell, or give away a customer's email address, unless they specifically agreed to receive emails from other 3rd parties. Always provide the option of unsubscribing in any emails you send, and ensure they are unsubscribed if requested.

10. Pop ups, are usually considered to be annoying by many people, however a pop up / pop under / float in ad etc etc are only annoying when the information contained in them is not relevant. If you have a free report / ebook / ecourse to give away using a pop up can be very successful, especially if you have it activated for when the customer is leaving your website.

11. If you are registered with any companies that prove you are a safe online business make sure you display their logo, this will show you are a reliable company, which so many cases of online fraud, many people are still unsure about using credit cards etc online, so show them your site is trusted.

12. Add a telephone number to your website, this shows that you are a real person / business and not some fly by night company on the internet. You can easy get free business telephone numbers that divert to your own home number if you wish. This gives the customer the knowledge that if they do encounter a problem on your website, that you are only a mere phone call away.
