Where to place your google adsense ads for the best ctr

Where to place your google adsense ads for the best ctr

Basically, you place Google AdWords ads or adverts on your website then if the ad gets clicked on by one of your visitors, you receive money, so why do you get money? well advertisers pay google to show their ads on your website so you are basically getting a share of what they have paid Google.

You can get a google account for free just by signing up here:

https://www.google.com/adsense/ and select click here to apply.

You will then be able to choose which types of ads you wish to display on your website and Google will provide you with some html code to cut and paste onto your website page.

Google will then use its advanced algorithms to decide which type of relevant ads and content to dsiplay on your website's pages. The code you pasted onto your pages will then display the ads google has decided match or are relevant to your website content. Please note that sometimes public service ads may display, and you do not get paid if someone clicks on these.

So to sum up, if you have a website about ebooks, your ads will not be about pets, or swimming, they will be about ebooks or related ebook topics. The content of the ads should be relevant to your website content and exactly the type of information your visitors are looking for.

So which types of ads are best to place on your website.

Adsense for content
Adsense for Search
Adsense Referrals

Adsense for content, is the ads I previously mentioned.

Adsense for search is a search box you place on your website

And Adsense Referrals is referring people to use googles products and services.

Take a look at this website to see a suprising picture of how people are more than likely to view your website, you may be surprised! Its gives you a little insight into the eye path of a visitor.

According to Google, the following ad formats result in the highest number of click-throughs or CTRs:

336×280, 300×250, 160×600

The best resource for google ads is on their own help pages, see this one for placing your ads
and the hottest sections picture helps alot too:

Try to blend your ads in with the same colour scheme as your website, try to make them not look like ads, and certainly dont put titles over them such as ADVERTISEMENTS or such like, google already displays "ads by gooooooogle" anyway.

If you send out a newsletter or ezine, then you could easily drive those members to your website and earn more from your adsense ads, just link to a specific product, question or article and this will ultimately take them to the relevant page that is also displaying your ads.

Many Gurus will tell you the best positions for your ads that will gain the highest ctr, click through rate, but test ads out yourself, try placing ads on different parts of your site, use different sizes, different colours, trial and error is really the only way you will find out which is the best type of ad and ad position on your website.

One general rule is that the most profitable ads are placed beside, above or below the main content of your website so bear this in mind. And remember that when most people finish reading a sentence their eyes will return to the left position!

So now you can make the most of this earning potential from google, use the maximum amount ads google allows, at my last check it was Four Box ads and 3 Text Ads, but check with google to be sure.

Go get those ads up, running and profiting for YOU !
